I must say that this little 1-Year-Old has got to be one of the happiest in the world! He did nothing but smile during this entire photoshoot at Wheeler Farm. Just give him a pumpkin and he is entertained!
First of all, I must apologize that I lost touch over the last two months. Things were quite busy in my personal life. I actually just started a new job! I am now the Special Events Manager for the American Red Cross of Utah. It is quite fun so far and I am absolutely loving it. I will definitely stay around the arts and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company in a volunteer role, but this new change is going to be great! Now, onto a few photos I took several weeks ago. These were some senior portraits for Andrew who will be graduated high school this year. Congratulations Andrew! We first did the usual senior portraits for a nice headshot to put in with his announcements. But then we also had some fun with my husband's motorcycle and giving him a "bad boy" image to play around with. Quite handsome! We welcomed a new member to the family on Wednesday, July 14th, my little nephew Remington McLachlan. Of course I had to take advantage of the newborn stage and get some cute little photos of him. It turned into a three to four hour shoot though because we scheduled it around his "well-established" sleep schedule so that he would be nice and asleep during the photo-shoot. However, he had different plans for us. He decided to stay awake almost the entire time. The few shots I have of him asleep were limited to about five or six at a time. But I must say we ended up with several ADORABLE shots! Getting to practice with maternity shoots isn't always easy considering that you actually need to find someone that is pregnant in the first place and willing to let you play around. You also need to schedule it for the perfect time when there is enough belly to shoot. I was lucky because I had my sister Angel who is due July 26th with my little nephew, Remington. These photos were a lot of fun because it just gave us a chance to play around with several things I have seen in maternity photos and not have any worries on time constraints (I think the photoshoot ended up going for three hours!). And since I was her sister than she felt totally comfortable around me to expose her belly and humor me when I wanted to attempt a shot that I wasn't sure of how to get set up. In the end I am thrilled with the shots I got and even better, so was she! Enjoy! I just loved these little fish shoes! They remind me of "Finding Nemo."
A while back I did an adorable shoot with little Baby Betty. Let me tell you, I think she is one of the most stylish babies I have seen. This is to be expected considering her mother, Crystal, is always styling the cutest clothes and jewelry! Her first outfit was her "rocker" attire in hot pink with the zebra leggings. She spent most of this time staring at my strange clicking contraption I had in her face. I think this outfit included some of the most adorable facial expressions as if she was saying, "What in the world are you doing?" |

Here is a closer look at my adventures in photography as I go off on my next shoot or I experiment with new techniques I am learning. I hope you can learn from some of the things I am doing and perhaps you can share some opinions and insight on my photographic work. Categories
